Releasing the Kraken: Criatura’s ‘This is Tenta’ Mural Takes Over Chelsea
This week, Waran’s Fine Art was transformed into a live canvas. We are incredibly excited to share the creative process behind our latest gallery installation: a striking, large-scale mural by the brilliant contemporary street artist, Criatura.
Titled This is Tenta, the bold installation brings a surge of urban energy directly into the heart of our Chelsea gallery space.
A Live Art Experience
At Waran’s Fine Art, we believe that contemporary art should be dynamic, accessible, and constantly evolving. That is why we invited Criatura to use our gallery walls as his canvas, turning the traditional exhibition model inside out.
Over the course of the installation, passersby and gallery visitors were able to witness the artist’s creative process firsthand. From the initial pencil outlines and intricate masking tape work to the vibrant bursts of spray paint and precise marker details, watching This is Tenta come to life was nothing short of mesmerizing.
The piece features Criatura’s signature bold aesthetic—vibrant, surreal tentacles bursting through the gallery’s crisp white walls, playfully disrupting the space and inviting viewers to expect the unexpected.
The Intersection of Street Art and Fine Art
Criatura’s work perfectly embodies the spirit of our gallery. By bringing raw, street-inspired elements into a polished gallery setting, he challenges the boundaries of where and how fine art should be experienced. The This is Tenta mural is not just a painting on a wall; it is a statement about creativity breaking free from convention.
Watch the Process Unfold
For those who couldn’t make it to the gallery to see the installation in person, our team captured the entire artistic process from start to finish.
Watch the time-lapse video below to see exactly how Criatura “Released the Kraken” and brought his vivid imagination to life on the walls of Waran’s Fine Art.
